Nothing is the same since COVID-19.
Everyone and everything is affected by it. For many of you, it’s affected your daily routine, your children, your schooling, your finances, your business — everything. Among the many ways the coronavirus has changed your life, a large percentage of people share a particular result in common:
You’re suddenly working remotely.
A huge amount of people are now working from home due to quarantine orders. For some, it’s no big deal. But for others, it’s hard in part because not everyone lives in an area with good cell phone signal. And nowadays, a strong cell signal (along with a reliable Wi-Fi connection) is essential to most jobs. And there’s a very good chance that includes the work you do.
This is where cell phone signal boosters come in. Here’s why.
1. Cell Signal Boosters Keep Life And Business Moving Forward During Quarantine Social distancing may be necessary, but we need to remember that there are other things that are close to or just as important as our health. Two of those things are maintaining our livelihood and staying connected socially. If we have to do these things primarily through digital means, so be it. But we have to do them. And believe it or not, a cell phone signal booster helps you do these two important things (and a whole lot more) as much as anything else. They provide convenience, consistency, reliability, and peace of mind. You need a strong cell signal if you’re working from home. And a SureCall device keeps it that way. 2. Here’s what to do. Step 1: Find The Location Outside Your Home With The Strongest Signal - Put your phone in test mode (instructions on how to do this here). - If you need any assistance finding the tower, please reach out to us at sales@surecallboosters.ca for more detailed information on the towers in your area. Step 2: Mount The Outside Antenna Note: You want to mount the outside antenna as high as possible. The higher you install it, the easier it is to avoid obstacles like trees and buildings._ To Install It On A Wall… - Get the included L-bracket. - Press the L-bracket against the wall or surface in the exact spot you want the antenna to be. - Take the L-bracket away from the wall and use a marker, pen, or pencil to mark the holes. - Drill holes where you marked and insert the wall anchors. - Replace the L-bracket and use the washers and nuts to secure it to the wall. To Install It On A Pole Or Vent Pipe… - Get the included U-bolt. - Place the U-bolt around the pole and slide the bracket over the u-bolt followed by the L-bracket. (If you don’t have a pole to mount the outside antenna, we recommend upgrading to the J-Bar Antenna Mount.) - Use the washers and nuts to secure the L-bracket in place. - Get the outside antenna. - Remove the washers and nuts from the bottom of the antenna. - Place the antenna on top of the L-bracket. (Make sure the bolts fit through the holes on the top of the bracket). - Replace the washers and nuts and tighten them down to secure the antenna in place. Note: the outside antenna that comes with the SureCall Flare 3.0 Canada is a directional antenna. That means it needs to be pointed at the nearest tower for best results. Step 3: Connect The RG6 Cable - Get the RG6 cable. - Connect it to the outside antenna. - Run it to where you’ll be placing your booster inside the house. - Secure the cable using the cable clips. - Recommendation: If you are in a rural area with 1 or 2 bars at the location of your outside antenna, it is recommended that you upgrade your cable to RG11 for improved performance by up to 67%. Step 4: Choose A Location Inside Your House For The Booster
- Install the booster in central a location considering where you need boosted signal the most. - The spot you choose needs to be at least 25 ft away from the outside antenna. (If the booster and outside antenna are within 25 ft of each other, it negatively impacts performance and decreases the coverage area) - It also needs to be within reach of an electrical outlet. - Connect the booster to the RG6 (or RG11) cable previously run from the outside antenna. - Connect the power supply and then plug it in. That’s it! Your SureCall Flare 3.0 is now broadcasting a stronger signal throughout your house! That includes faster call connection, text delivery. Say goodbye to dropped calls and low latency. and data speeds in your home, small office, or wherever you’re working remotely. Every app you use on your mobile devices will have faster data transfer. And don’t forget that a cell phone signal booster also boosts the Wi-Fi hotspot you can generate from your phone. Don’t Forget These Important Aspects Of How Signal Boosters Work! Remember that signal boosters can only boost a signal if there’s a signal to boost in the first place. A signal booster doesn’t create a new signal on its own. It boosts the signal that exists in the area where your home resides. So if you live in an area that has absolutely no signal whatsoever, a signal booster probably won’t help you. To determine the signal status around your home, use the testing method described in Step 1 of the installation section.
Another Thing A common misconception is that cell phone signal boosters also boost your Wi-Fi connection. This is not true. Wi-Fi frequencies are totally different from cellular frequencies. SureCall devices don’t have anything to do with Wi-Fi. However, in an indirect way, the benefit of having a signal booster in the home does provide better Wi-Fi. We mentioned it briefly above, but if you have faster data speeds, the Wi-Fi hotspot from your phone will work better. So if you’re used to using your phone as a hotspot, a cell signal booster in the home will absolutely make that better. And One More Thing Customers often ask if they need to notify their carrier when they get a signal booster. No, you do not need to notify or get permission from anyone. Every SureCall device is Industry Canada Certified and is classified as a consumer device. This means no pre-approval is required to purchase one. There is no need to register it with your carrier.
